Oracular seidhr for November: Tuesday the 12th

My next oracular seidhr session will take place on Tuesday, November 12th, 2013. If you would like to be included, please email your question to me at: wodandis at gmail dot com.

Since I skipped my October session, I will be relaxing my limit of five querents for this month’s session; I have a few questions I saved from last month, have already received one new request this month, and have room for a few more.  So if you have a question, send it in!

Per usual, I will still be accepting only ONE question per session from each individual (with NO follow up questions, please!) . Please allow 2-3 days after the session to receive your answer, to account for the fact that Jo needs to type up the dictation she takes down during the sessions, after which I look over and sometimes amend her transcription before emailing the answers off to you.

Please get your questions to me by Monday night if you would like to be included! I will reply briefly to your email to let you know you’re in, and will post again when I feel I’ve reached my limit for the questions.

Although this is a free service I provide to the community and payment is not necessary, donations are always VERY gratefully accepted, especially this month, as I really overextended myself on preparing my booth for my recent craft fair venture and made no sales at it.  (More on that later: the venue and so many other things were wrong about this!)  Also, this disaster coincided with my having recently reduced my working hours to 25 per week, and while I am definitely seeing an increase in my energy levels as a result, there is also a rather large decrease in my paycheck.  So as always, if you appreciate what I am doing with my seidhr practice and/ or my blog, and I have helped you in some way, I deeply appreciate any financial gift you can afford to make, no matter how small. If you would like to make a donation you may do via Paypal at wodandis at gmail dot com.  Or, you could always hop on over to FiberWytch on Etsy and pick up some handspun yarn or a ritual cord or two instead; all of my prices have recently been lowered with the holiday shopper in mind (I realize many of you have money issues of your own, but you still need to get those holiday gifts bought or made, right?), and I’m adding at least one new item every day.  (Plus, domestic US shipping is now free!)

Oracles are Wingdings

True words on the nature of trance work, oracles, and seership. It is not a gentle or pretty process, folks–not in my experience (7 years and counting now) with seidhr, anyway…

The Twisted Rope

Alternative title: The Nature of a Trance
Alternative title #2: Trancework Will Make You Its Bitch

I recently read a post by Tess Dawson about Cradling Oracles. In this post, she suggests a number of actions to be taken when working with oracles, visions and dreams. Above all, the message seems to be that in order to be able to experience the “kiss of inspiration” that an oracle brings, you must be clean and gentle.

After reading the post, I mulled over how it is I interact with oracles and visions and I came to the following conclusion: I don’t really think that oracles, visions and dreams are something you cradle. They cradle you (to put it nicely or poetically).

To be more accurate, they drown you and suck you in. You feel the wave of the vision rushing towards you, and before you can even think to run…

Oracular seidhr for September: Saturday the 14th

My next oracular seidhr session will take place next Saturday, September 14th, 2013. If you would like to be included, please email your question to me at: wodandis at gmail dot com.

Please keep in mind that, going forward, I will be accepting only ONE question per session from each individual (with NO follow up questions, as usual), and limiting each session to FIVE separate querents. In addition, please allow 2-3 days after the session to receive your answer, to account for the fact that Jo needs to type up the dictation she takes down during the sessions, after which I look over and sometimes amend her transcription before emailing the answers off to the querents. I think these changes will make it easier for me to continue to do seidhr in a manageable fashion.

Thank you for understanding, and please email me before Friday night if you would like your question included in the upcoming session. Anyone who sends theirs in too late will have the option of being first in my queue for the October session!

As always, donations are very gratefully accepted, as I am only able to work part time due to my health issues; if you would like to make a donation you may do via Paypal at wodandis at gmail dot com.

More information about my practice may be found here.

Seidhr for August is now CLOSED…

However, if you have already let me know to expect a question from you and I have emailed you back, then your question will be included!  (As long as I receive it before the evening of Wednesday 8/14.)

I hope everyone is enjoying this strangely liminal month of August thus far.  Today we went on a day trip that felt like a spiritual pilgrimage for me, to what must truly be one of the most spectacularly beautiful spots on earth: Crater Lake.  Formed only from snow water within the collapsed pit of what still remains a viable, yet dormant, volcano, this is the deepest lake in the United States and the water is a pure, crystalline blue. It has been a very sacred place for the Native tribes, and is teeming with spirits; as a place where fire, water, earth and sky all meet and are connected, it forms a powerful conduit between the worlds and I had a number of revelations connecting it with Perthro, Hvergelmir, and the Well of Wyrd, as well as more personal insights showing how it relates to my own path.

At any rate, I took a bunch of photos and a few videos and will be sharing them here in a few days, as soon as I get a chance to upload them.

Oracular seidhr for August: Thursday 8/15/13

My next oracular seidhr session will take place next Thursday, August 15th, 2013.

Oracular seidhr for July: some changes (please read!)

My next oracular seidhr session will take place next Wednesday, 7/17, as scheduled, however from this point on there will be a couple of changes.

Seidhr has been taking an increasing toll on me physically because of my fibromyalgia issues ; I have trouble sitting in a chair for an hour at a time, let alone two, and having a marathon session involving eleven querents, half of whom asked three questions each, on a night when I have work the next morning is proving to be more than I can handle. As a result, Odin has asked that I either reschedule the sessions so that they are all on weekends, or limit the number of questions/querents per session. Because I really like having this on the ninth of the lunar month, I have chosen the second option.

And so, going forward I will be accepting only FIVE questions per session. To make this fair, I am also limiting each querent to ONE question each (with NO follow ups, as usual), so this will mean five separate querents can be accepted for each session.

Thank you for understanding, and please email me if you would like your question included in the upcoming session. Anyone who sends theirs in too late will have the option of being first in my queue for the August session!

May 18th seidhr session is now CLOSED

In my post-concussive state (and considering that I also have Queen Anne’s Day coming up this weekend) I now have as many questions as I think I can comfortably handle, so at this point I am closing seidhr to further questions.  Thank you all for the great questions; I’m very much looking forward to Saturday’s session!  If you have heard back from me, then you can assume your question(s) have been accepted.

I’d also like to thank everyone for the amazing prayer and poetry offerings you’ve sent for Queen Anne Boleyn; I’m very happy and touched to have gotten responses on this!  If you would like to send something and have not done so yet, I will be needing these by tomorrow evening; after that point I will be closing submissions for these too to allow myself time to print them out and get them ready.

Thanks again!

Reminder: oracular seidhr for May, and prayers for Queen Anne

anne_boleyn_600My next upcoming oracular session will be held on the evening of Saturday, May 18th.

Last Saturday evening, I concussed myself while getting some veggies for dinner out of the fridge.  This has happened before; fibromyalgia can make you accident-prone when you are overtired, and I had been doing a lot of running around that day.  It was definitely the worst concussion I have suffered to date; I was in excruciating pain for about 15 minutes to a half hour, and my pupils were actually two different sizes for a while.  I was nauseated, but did not pass out.  My cognitive abilities are okay, but I am still recovering from the effects (I have a lot of the symptoms of post-concussive syndrome: poor balance, dizziness, nausea, forgetfulness, poor judgment, anxiety, weird pins and needles sensations, and shakiness).  I have to take a lot of things a bit slower for the time being.  Seidhr, however, will take place as planned next weekend!

This year I have made several changes in the process for submitting a question, so please read this page and make sure you understand the changes and the new information before sending me a request for an oracle, as if you do not follow the new guidelines your question/s will be rejected. This is not for the purpose of being a hardass, but to make it possible for me to offer you the extra sessions I have added (11 this year as opposed to the 5 I held in 2012). And if you can do so at all, please do consider donating this year, to help support my devotional practice, if you submit a question. It is still not required, but I am working fewer hours now due to chronic health problems (and also had to miss two days of work due to my recent concussion; see above) so it is always appreciated!

The day after seidhr, May 19th, I will be celebrating an annual festival I created in honor of Queen Anne Boleyn, who is one of my most prominent Disir and the Lady who stepped in and put my ancestral house and practice in order.  The festival takes place on the anniversary of her beheading on false charges of adultery and treason in 1536.  I mark this day by processing to the Owen Memorial Rose Garden here in Eugene, where I leave gifts for Her and offer up prayers to Her and on Her behalf, and then back at home I prepare a Tudor era-inspired feast which we share with Her.

Since many of my readers have expressed support for Anne as well, this year, I would like to add something a little extra to this observance and invite you to send me your prayers for Her.  You can email them to me at wodandis@gmail.com, and I will also offer Her your words in tribute to Her, as well as my own, at the rose garden (which is a gorgeous site, by the way–the perfect setting in which to honor Her, England’s martyred Queen and blood red rose).

I will post another reminder about this a couple of days before the festival.

Thank you!
