I've had these glass cabochons and trays sitting around forever (left over from another project) and today I thought "Why not do something fun with them?" Tbt to 2014: remember when my Instagram looked mostly like this? (If so, congratulations because that was a long time ago, lol.) Now that I'm veering towards working mostly in fiber again, I'm wondering if I ought to revive these babies. #ritualcords, #handfastingcords, #witchesofinstagram, #fiberartistsofig

Joining in, although I feel like I'm very much in a place of creative transition right now and may post another one of these in a few months to show my progress. I'm Beth: a 52 year old Witch who suffers from fibromyalgia, IBS, and cervical arthritis, all of which have become more disabling as I get older. A few years ago, knowing that my years of being able to work a traditional job were probably limited, worked my ass off (damn near killing myself in the process)to turn my little Etsy shop into a viable business (making jewelry, prayer beads, and other pagan bling) that enabled me to quit my job and work from home. Unfortunately my success did not last, partly due to a flood of imitators (not looking to start any drama but I have to be real, here, that did play a part) though I suck at marketing myself and that also played a role. (Hard knocks introvert lessons: if you don't work at least as hard at expanding your tribe as you do at making your art, eventually the same circle of people that has always bought from you has some of everything you make--and they stop buying.) Now my shop is limping along while I figure out what I want to do next and try not to be too depressed about my predicament.
