A stunning longer necklace designed in honor of Ganesha, Remover of Obstacles, Hindu god of success, patron of the arts and sciences, and deva of intellect and wisdom.
The Tibetan silver pendant features a finely detailed portrait of Ganesha, seated on a lotus, and surrounded by inlaid bands of red and blue turquoise. The pendant is on an colorful, eclectic, and sparkling strand of beads consisting of 8mm red sea glass rounds, 8mm blue apatite and African turquoise rounds, and blue-green turquoise nuggets, interspersed with red Czech glass and Tibetan silver accent beads, Czech crystal rondelles in electroplated metallic silver/golden yellow sparkle, aurora borealis red sparkle, and aqua sparkle, and silver-lined clear glass seed beads.
The beads are strung on professional quality Beadalon beading wire, which is soft-drape clear-coated stainless steel, secured with crimps, and the ends are protected with wire guards. The necklace fastens with an easy-to-work silver-plated lobster claw clasp, but is also long enough to be slipped on and off over your head without using the clasp. It measures 29 1/2 inches in circumference–a great length for layering with other pieces–but is also lightweight and comfortable to wear. The Ganesha pendant measures about 1 1/2″ round.
Turquoise is a powerful stone of protection, communication, creativity, and leadership, strong and opaque, yet soothing and healing to the touch. It has been used as a talisman by kings, shamans, and warriors for thousands of years.
