A set of rosary-style prayer beads designed in honor of Loki, incendiary Trickster of the Norse pantheon.
The pendant is a vintage two-sided copper Chinese Zodiac medallion depicting a cobra poised to strike. (The other side of the pendant features a Yin Yang symbol surrounded by all of the Chinese zodiac signs–so this rosary could alternately be worn and used by someone born in the Year of the Snake.)
The pendant adorns a hand-worked rosary chain of AAA green pyrite rounds (pyrite being a stone many of Loki’s devotees associate with Him) alternating with tangerine sparkle Czech crystal rondelles and electroplated black Czech crystal bicones. The chain feeds into an ornate art nouveau rosary connector, from which an additional short chain, consisting of one green pyrite bead and two crystal rondelle, which ends in the pendant. The hand crafted chain is made from pure copper wire; it may tarnish with wear, but this will only add to its beauty.
Necklace circumference: 22 inches
Connector: 1 inch x 3/4 inch
Short chain: 1 3/4 inches
Pendant: 1 1/4 inches round
This elegant pagan rosary is fitted with a handcrafted copper S-clasp and can be worn like a necklace (the final photo above shows how it looks worn), or it can be wrapped around your wrist several times to be worn as a bracelet or carried while reciting prayers. These were created with Loki in mind but could easily be adapted for use with any other deity with whom the imagery and color palette resonates for you. They are not blessed or consecrated, but I would be happy to do that for you in a small ritual at no extra charge.
This rosary is $95. BUT from now through midnight Pacific time on Sunday night, 7/19 I am having a sale, and if you enter the coupon code CORBIE at checkout on Etsy it will bring the price of this rosary necklace down to only $80.75 (a savings of $14.25)! I am also open to layaway for this piece, although you would need to be able to make your first payment within two weeks.
There IS a minimum purchase of $20, and the coupon cannot be used for custom work. (If you want to place a custom order during the sale, please do so as a separate order.)
I will honor the sale price when setting up new layaways during the sale period (as long as you are able to make your first payment within two weeks), AND you can use it to make payment installments on existing layaway plans. (This surprise!sale came about due to our need to buy a surprise!air conditioner to make sure our heart patient dog stays cool for the remainder of the summer, as heat takes a toll on his heart.)
The sale continues all weekend! I’ve just finished adding the brand new rosaries (including this one) and two pocket prayer bead sets to the shop, if you want to peek at what’s there before I have a chance to feature everything on the blog (always a good idea, since some things fly out of the shop before I’m able to post about them). More on the way soon!
