Okay, I have two new Dark Moon cords now up for grabs over at Fiberwytch on Etsy. These were spun and consecrated during the last dark moon, but I had forgotten about them somehow. I treated them to an extra helping of awesome charms, including a couple that have not been seen on any of my Dark Moon cords to date–but I only have two of these cords in stock right now! Get yours today to have it in your hands in time for the next dark moon!
The dark moon is a psychically heavy time of the month; the veil between the worlds is thin, and contact with the dead and otherworldly beings becomes easier. It is a time for deep reflection, banishing and binding magic, protecting secrets, warding, seeking justice, and working to rid yourself of bad habits (or of anything else that needs to go). The dark moon is sacred to gods who know Their way in the dark, such as Odin, Hela, Hades, Nepthys, and Hekate, as well as to animals traditionally associated with witches, such as ravens, black cats, and bats.
Domestic hand dyed Cheviot top and locally raised Coopworth lamb locks were carded with natural black Jacob top, locally sourced kid Mohair, Angelina and Firestar, then spun with intent and healing Reiki energy and energetically charged with dark moon energies. The result is a darkly shimmering cord filled with subtle pops of color that remind us that even the darkest nights can be filled with hidden radiance.
Rinsed with mugwort, dulse seaweed, moonstone, smoky quartz, and essential oils of ravensara, vetiver, myrrh, rose, anise, and valerian. The cord ends are adorned with four charms: an ornate crescent moon in antiqued bronze, a genuine black onyx, an antiqued silvertone raven, and an antiqued silvertone skeleton key (for unlocking the secrets of the night).
The first cord is the traditional length of three yards (9 feet), and has been adorned with four charms: a genuine black onyx (a stone for grounding, centering, and balancing energy–not shown in this photo), a silvertoned raven to act as your guide through the darkness, an antiqued silvertone skeleton key (for unlocking the secrets of the night), and an ornate antiqued bronzetone crescent moon.
The second cord is two yards (6 feet) long–perfect for those of you who said you might prefer a shorter cord) and has been adorned with four charms: a genuine black onyx (a stone for grounding, centering, and balancing energy), an antiqued bronzetone serpent to help you gain access to hidden places, an antiqued silvertone skeleton key (for unlocking the secrets of the night), and an ornate antiqued bronzetone crescent moon.
These will not last (my Dark Moon cords never do), so if one of these calls to you, go claim it before it’s gone!
(There will be more cords very soon, but it will probably be at least another couple of weeks before I get the chance to do another batch of Dark Moon.)
